Lincoln-Way Central maintained its undefeated record with a narrow 2-1 victory over Lockport on Tuesday, continuing its strong start to the season.
The Knights improved to 7-0, led by pitcher Lisabella Dimitrijevic, who allowed just one earned run while striking out seven. Lincoln-Way Central scored two runs on seven hits and committed no errors in the field.
Jaimee Bolduc contributed significantly to the offense, going 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Ellie McLaughlin added a 2-for-3 performance and scored one of the team’s two runs. Head coach Jeff Tarala remarked on the competitive nature of the game: "It’s always a battle when we play Lockport," he said. "Two good teams with good players competing at a high level. It’s a fun environment for these girls to be in. Just glad we were on the winning side of it."
According to Tarala, the tightly contested matchup showcased strong defensive play and timely hitting from both teams, but Lincoln-Way Central capitalized on key moments to secure the win. The Knights’ early-season momentum remains intact as they prepare for their next challenge.
Lincoln-Way Central will return to action on Friday, April 11, when they host Lincoln-Way West in another highly anticipated matchup.
