The Knights began their day with a decisive 13-0 victory over Coal City. According to reports, pitcher Brooke Seppi led the team by striking out 18 batters in a commanding display. The second game was a closely contested 1-0 win against Lincoln-Way West, where Lisabella Dimitrijevic pitched effectively, recording 16 strikeouts to secure the win. In the final match, Central defeated Providence 10-6 through a balanced team effort both offensively and defensively.
Lincoln-Way Central (5-0) had four players named to the All-Tournament Team: Jaimee Bolduc, Mia Degliomini, Carly Karales, and Dimitrijevic, who was also recognized as the Tournament MVP.
"We love playing in the WJOL Tournament because it provides a playoff-type atmosphere," Coach Jeff Tarala said. "There's a championship and pride on the line within the softball community. The entire team contributed, and we were fortunate to come out on top."
The Knights aim to maintain their perfect start to the season when they face Lockport on Tuesday, April 8. Their performance has reinforced their position as strong contenders this spring.
