The Lincoln-Way girls varsity lacrosse team earned a hard-fought 16-13 win over St. Charles Co-Op at home on April 16, highlighting a season built on resilience and teamwork.
Senior Kaitlyn Rossi led the scoring with four goals, while Tegan Dudeck and Mia Drzewiecki each netted three. The victory lifts the team to a 2-3 record and marks their most complete performance of the year.
“Our team stayed focused and trusted each other,” head coach TJ McDavid said. “They adapted quickly, adjusted to pressure, and played with heart.”
The team overcame multiple momentum shifts by attacking from different angles and staying composed under pressure. The win was especially meaningful as it came against a local rival, adding extra motivation heading into a critical stretch.
Lincoln-Way hosts Minooka on April 17 before facing two key opponents—Sandburg on April 23 and Lockport on May 7.
Players left the field proud and energized, united by a common goal.
“This match was a turning point for us,” McDavid said. “The girls executed when it mattered most, and that belief will drive us forward.”
