Lincoln-Way Central has released its full Winter Opening Day schedule, detailing start dates, locations, and times for the 2025–26 athletic programs. The announcement was made on October 6.
According to the Athletic Department, most winter sports will officially commence during the week of November 10, 2025, on campus in New Lenox. A required athletic physical must be completed by all competing students before participation.
Boys basketball will open on November 10–11 with varsity, sophomore, and freshman sessions divided between the Main Gym and Fieldhouse. Girls basketball is set to begin earlier on November 3–4. Other sports such as bowling, gymnastics, swimming, wrestling, and competitive cheer have distinct start times that include tryout periods and parent meetings. Competitive dance candidates are expected to report on October 27 at 3:30 p.m. in the North Gym, with mandatory tryout clinics starting on October 20. Wrestling will launch for both boys and girls on November 10–11 with practices scheduled in the Wrestling Room and Fieldhouse.
Athletes in cheer, competitive dance, and bowling will begin tryouts or informational sessions in late October. Full winter program activation is scheduled for November 3 for girls basketball and November 10 for most other teams.
The latest update to Lincoln-Way Central’s athletic calendar follows the fall sports rollout in August, marking the beginning of the 2025–26 competitive year across all Knights programs.
