Luke Tingley recorded five hits and drove in three runs to lead Lincoln-Way Central to a 13-6 win over Joliet Catholic in a nonconference matchup.
The game took place March 25 at Lincoln-Way Central High School. The Knights overcame an early deficit with a five-run second inning to take control, then added three more runs in the third. They finished with 16 hits in a balanced offensive effort.
Tingley went 5-for-5, scoring twice and driving in three runs. Austin Welch added three hits and three RBIs. Conor McCabe had two hits and an RBI, while Des Gill also had two hits and an RBI. C. Lovingfoss scored twice and reached base multiple times. The Knights drew four walks and took advantage of scoring opportunities.
On the mound, Will Kedzior and Tyler Arnold combined for six scoreless innings, allowing just three hits while striking out four.
Joliet Catholic scored three runs in each of the first two innings before being held scoreless over the final five.
Lincoln-Way Central returns April 11 at home against Illiana Christian at 10 a.m.
