Lincoln-Way Central girls soccer edged Plainfield Central 2-1 in a tournament matchup, continuing its unbeaten run with another close and hard-fought victory.
The match took place April 13 at Lincoln-Way Central High School, where the Knights improved to 11-0 on the season.
Lincoln-Way Central battled through a competitive match, finding just enough offense to secure the win against a determined opponent. Sydney Zale played a key role in the attack, helping lead the Knights as they generated scoring opportunities throughout the match. Flynn Meyer also contributed offensively, as the duo helped create pressure and capitalize on key moments to give Lincoln-Way Central the edge.
Plainfield Central managed to find the back of the net once, keeping the game close and forcing the Knights to respond. Lincoln-Way Central answered with two goals and maintained composure as the match progressed. Defensively, the Knights remained steady under pressure, limiting quality chances and preserving the narrow lead down the stretch.
Lincoln-Way Central controlled possession at key moments and executed when it mattered most, particularly in the second half. The Knights’ ability to stay composed and finish opportunities proved to be the difference in securing another victory.
