Lincoln-Way Central’s boys volleyball team secured sixth place in the Gold Bracket at the Brother Rice High School Tournament on April 26.
Coached by Mary Brown, the Knights demonstrated a robust performance throughout the weekend, with significant contributions from several standout players. Senior Dylan Brannigan led the offense with 34 kills, adding two aces and one block. Aiden Schindler also made a notable impact, recording 16 kills, nine aces, and four blocks. Logan Baechtold completed the list of notable performances with 11 kills and one block.
According to Brown, Lincoln-Way Central finished with a 14-9 record following the tournament, which included numerous competitive matchups against top-tier teams in the Gold Bracket. The team exhibited resilience and teamwork in every match, earning praise from Brown for their consistent effort and composure under pressure.
“The boys had a good day,” Brown said after the tournament. “We’re building momentum and learning with every match.”
Lincoln-Way Central aims to continue its progress as it prepares to face Lockport on Tuesday, April 29. With several strong performances already this season, the Knights intend to build on their recent success as they approach the final stretch of the regular season.
