Lincoln-Way Central’s varsity girls soccer team won its Windy City Classic home tournament match against Andrew in regulation after the teams finished scoreless.
The match was held on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Lincoln-Way Central High School. The Lincoln-Way Central Knights varsity girls soccer team edged the Andrew Thunderbolts, winning 5–4 in penalty kicks after a 0–0 draw through regulation and overtime. With the victory, Lincoln-Way Central improved to 2–0 overall and 2–0 at home, as both teams battled through a defensive, evenly matched contest that reflected their strong early-season form. The Knights had opened the season with a win over Solorio on March 18, while Andrew entered the match undefeated after an 8–1 win over De La Salle .
Up next, the Knights open the week with a home nonconference match against Homewood-Flossmoor on Monday, March 30 at 11:45 a.m. The teams last met on April 17, 2025, at Homewood-Flossmoor High School, where Lincoln-Way Central earned a 2–0 conference win according to MaxPreps.
Lincoln-Way Central High School had an enrollment of 1,968 students in grades nine through twelve during the 2019–2020 school year and is located in New Lenox and Will County. Out of these students, grade eleven had the highest concentration with 23.5 percent of all students enrolled; grade twelve accounted for 23.2 percent; grade ten for 23.1 percent; and grade nine for 21.4 percent. The student body was made up of approximately 85.6 percent white students, with black and Asian students each representing about 1.6 percent and Hispanic students making up about 9.5 percent during that same period according to Illinois Report Card.
