A four-run fifth inning lifts the Lincoln-Way Central Knights to a 4-1 victory over the Andrew T-Bolts on Monday at Lincoln-Way Central High School.
The game took place on May 11 at Lincoln-Way Central High School.
The game was scoreless through four before the Knights strung together four straight run‑producing at‑bats in the bottom of the fifth. Conor McCabe opened the scoring with an RBI single, and Daniel Houston followed with a run‑scoring double to make it 2–0. Christian Lovingfoss capped the surge with a two‑run single that stretched the lead to 4–0 and provided all the offense Central needed.
Tyler Arnold set the table all afternoon, finishing 3‑for‑4 with a run scored. Houston added a 2‑for‑3 line with a double, RBI, and run, while McCabe reached twice and drove in one. Lovingfoss delivered the big swing with two RBIs.
On the mound, Owen Novak was dominant across six innings, allowing six hits and just one unearned run while striking out eight and walking none. Andrew’s lone run came in the sixth, but the T‑Bolts couldn’t generate sustained offense, finishing with six hits and leaving runners aboard as Central’s fifth‑inning outburst held up.
