Lincoln-Way Central earned a convincing 10-4 victory over Hinsdale Central in girls water polo Monday night, continuing its strong run under head coach Pam Shaughnessy.

The Knights showcased their offensive depth in the home win, with six players contributing goals. Angelina Plato, Emily Ewanic, Genevieve Dal Ponte, Marissa Culver, Tessa Nakos and Jaylyn Kucera each scored, while assists came from Plato, Sophia Gaier and Dal Ponte.

“I am so proud of the way the girls have been playing,” Shaughnessy said. “They have been up for any challenge that has come their way.”

Lincoln-Way Central controlled the pace from the opening whistle, establishing a lead early and maintaining pressure throughout. The defense played a key role in limiting Hinsdale Central’s scoring opportunities, allowing the Knights to stay firmly in control of the match.

With the win, Lincoln-Way Central improves to 13-4 on the season, showing continued growth and consistency as the postseason approaches. The team has displayed strong chemistry in recent games, with both veteran players and emerging contributors stepping up.

The Knights will look to build on their momentum when they return to the pool Tuesday night for a road matchup against Andrew.
