The Lincoln-Way Central boys basketball team earned a 57–35 win over Providence Catholic in a nonconference matchup.
The game took place on Jan. 3 at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox.
Lincoln-Way Central controlled the tempo defensively and gradually built separation over four quarters. The Knights limited Providence Catholic to 35 points while steadily extending the margin, using balanced scoring and disciplined half-court execution. The defensive effort disrupted Providence Catholic’s rhythm and kept the Celtics from generating consistent scoring runs.
Lincoln-Way Central’s ability to defend without fouling and convert possessions on the offensive end proved decisive as the lead grew in the second half. The Knights maintained composure throughout the game, closing strong to secure the 22-point victory on their home floor.
The win improved Lincoln-Way Central’s overall record to 11–3, continuing a strong start to the season and reinforcing the team’s success in nonconference play.
Up next Lincoln-Way Central boys basketball will return to action on Jan. 20, hosting Lockport in a conference matchup scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
The last meeting between the two teams took place on Dec. 10, when Lincoln-Way Central earned a 53–46 win over Lockport.
