The Lincoln Way girls’ lacrosse team secured a narrow 16-15 overtime victory against Lockport on May 7, improving their season record to 7-6.

According to the match report, senior Teagan Dudeck and junior Mia Drzewiecki each scored five goals in the high-scoring game held at Central. Drzewiecki also played a pivotal role across the field, forcing four turnovers and controlling 14 draws. In goal, Addy Kelly delivered an impressive performance with a season-best 52% save rate, making several crucial stops against Lockport’s top scorers.

Lincoln Way maintained the lead for much of the game until Lockport mounted a late rally to tie it at the end of regulation. Although Lockport won the opening draw in overtime, Lincoln Way’s defense quickly forced a turnover. The team transitioned upfield, drew a foul, and Kaitlyn Rossi scored the game-winning golden goal. Schrage and Rossi were instrumental defensively, helping to contain Lockport’s leading attackers throughout the game.

Players of the game honors were awarded to Dudeck, Drzewiecki, and Rossi. Lincoln Way is set to return to action next week with home games against Benet on May 13 and Plainfield on May 15. With momentum from their thrilling win, Lincoln Way aims to finish the regular season strong and build confidence heading into postseason play.
