Lincoln-Way girls wrestling delivered a dominant performance to capture the IHSA Regional team championship, advancing a large group of wrestlers to the next postseason round.
The regional tournament took place Feb. 6–7, as the Warriors showcased depth across weight classes and consistency throughout the two-day event. Lincoln-Way finished atop the team standings while sending 12 wrestlers on to sectionals.
Zoe Dempsey and Ella Giertuga each claimed individual regional championships to lead the Warriors’ scoring effort. Lincoln-Way also saw strong runner-up finishes from Emmy Hoselton, Caleigh Nicholson, Riley DePolo, and Abby Kunz, while McKenzie Steinke and Liv Clumpner earned third-place finishes. Additional sectional qualifiers included Zoe Zerial, Dani Schedin, Avery Holman, and Jalyssa Venegas, who each placed fourth in their respective brackets.
Lincoln-Way’s performance reflected the program’s balance and competitive consistency, with points coming from every stage of the bracket. The Warriors remained steady throughout the tournament, responding to key moments and building separation in the team race.
The regional title highlighted the continued growth and strength of Lincoln-Way girls wrestling, as the Warriors now move forward with momentum, confidence, and a strong presence as they continue the season.
