The Lincoln-Way Central boys wrestling program delivered a clean sweep across all three levels, defeating Stagg in varsity, junior varsity, and freshman competition.
The meet took place on Thursday, Jan. 8, at Stagg High School.
Lincoln-Way Central controlled the action throughout the night, posting a 68–11 victory at the varsity level and following it with a 60–12 win in the junior varsity matchup. The freshman squad completed the sweep with a 44–36 victory, showcasing the program’s depth and consistency across all levels.
The varsity lineup was led by Jalen Byrd, Aiden Hennings, Justin Langford, Ryne Nape, Dylan Wrobel, and Logan Wooten, who set the tone early with decisive performances on the mat. Freshman Jadon Zimmer also made an impact, continuing to emerge as a key contributor alongside the experienced core.
The sweep reflected the balance of veteran leadership and developing talent under the direction of head coach Tyrone Byrd, as Lincoln-Way Central maintained control in every matchup.
Up next, Lincoln-Way Central will compete in the SWSC Post-Season Tournament on Wednesday, Jan. 21, with varsity wrestling scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at Stagg.
