Lincoln-Way Central Wrestlers Dominate at Weekend Tournament

Lincoln-Way Central delivered a strong showing at an individual wrestling tournament, highlighted by multiple podium finishes across several weight classes and consistent performances throughout the lineup.

The tournament took place Jan. 2–3, 2026, at North Montgomery High School.

Jalen Byrd led the Knights with a tournament championship at 175 pounds, emerging as one of the top competitors in his bracket over the two-day event. Lincoln-Way Central also placed three wrestlers third, including Eric Hoselton (138), Justin Langford (190), and Aiden Hennings (285), showcasing depth across both middle and upper weights.

Additional top-four finishes came from Caleb Rogers (132), Ryne Nape (150), and Guy Baser (165), who each placed fourth after advancing through competitive brackets. Finn Fifer (113), Alex Kedzior (126), and Dylan Wrobel (144) earned fifth-place finishes, while Mike Heimberg (157) and Logan Wooten (215) rounded out the podium placements with sixth-place finishes.

The collective results reflected Lincoln-Way Central’s balance of experience and emerging contributors, with wrestlers advancing deep into their respective brackets across multiple classes.

Up Next: Lincoln-Way Central is scheduled to compete at the Illini Classic on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2026, with wrestling set to begin at 9 a.m.
