The Lincoln-Way Central Knights concluded the 2025 regular football season with a notable 8-1 record, securing second place in their conference.
According to reports, Central began the season strongly, defeating St. Charles East 63-0 and following up with a 26-14 victory over Providence Catholic. The Knights maintained their early momentum with a 43-0 win against Stagg, achieving an impressive score margin of 132-14 over the first three weeks.
Their only loss occurred on September 19, when they faced Lincoln-Way West and were narrowly defeated 17-12. This setback reportedly prompted a renewed focus for the team. They responded with a decisive 45-7 victory at DeKalb and a close 28-20 win at home against Bradley-Bourbonnais.
Central finished the regular season on a five-game winning streak, including wins over Andrew (28-21), Waubonsie Valley (37-7), and Rich Township (48-8). The Knights remained unbeaten at home with a perfect 5-0 record and outscored opponents by an overall margin of 330-94. Their season was characterized by balance, physicality, and effective execution on both offense and defense.
As they enter the postseason, the Knights are buoyed by strong momentum and have set their sights on championship success.
