The Lincoln-Way Central girls’ cross country team delivered a notable performance at the Naperville Twilight Invitational, competing under the lights against top-tier teams from across Illinois.
According to reports, the Knights placed multiple runners in the top 50, showcasing both speed and depth in this midseason test. The meet occurred on October 8, 2025, at the Settler’s Hill Cross Country Course in Geneva, Illinois. The conditions were clear skies and cool evening temperatures, ideal for racing.
Junior Keira Faxel led Lincoln-Way Central by placing ninth overall with a time of 17:47.07. She was followed closely by Mia Forystek, who finished 15th in 17:52.80. Brea Counihan (22nd, 18:01.76), Jillian Davies (34th, 18:26.93), and Macy Gallagher (48th, 18:43.67) completed a strong scoring five that helped secure a competitive team placement among powerhouse programs. In junior varsity competition, Nicole Demma (20:45.61) and Cassidy Dion (20:46.85) also placed inside the top 40.
Looking ahead, the Knights will focus on the Southwest Suburban Conference Championships next weekend as they aim to maintain their momentum into the postseason.
In last year’s Naperville Twilight Invite, Lincoln-Way Central finished outside the top 10, marking this year’s performance as a significant improvement for the Knights’ program.
