Lincoln-Way Central senior Hannah Quigley is focused on achieving two significant objectives this fall: securing a fourth consecutive appearance at the state meet and establishing herself as a leader for the Knights.
“My goal would definitely be to make it down to state for a fourth year,” Quigley said. “It would be an amazing experience, but I also want to be a good leader and role model for the team.”
Now in her senior season, Quigley has developed a routine that aids her competitive performance. Her pre-race preparation involves listening to music and spending time with teammates. “The atmosphere helps so much,” she said. “I always have music playing before a race — some Beyoncé usually makes the playlist.”
Reflecting on her career, Quigley noted that her standout memories are not solely about winning medals. “You don’t always remember every meet, but you remember the bus rides to state and sectionals, the bonding,” she said.
With her accumulated experience and confidence, Quigley aims to lead her teammates toward a strong conclusion while cherishing each moment of her final season in a Knights uniform.
