Lincoln-Way Central opened the 2025 football season with a resounding win Friday, overpowering St. Charles East 63–0 in front of a lively home crowd. The Knights improved to 1–0 with a performance that showcased efficiency, balance and depth across all phases.
The Knights wasted no time setting the tone, scoring on their opening drives with a mix of sharp passing and explosive runs. The offensive line dictated the pace from the outset, creating lanes for a steady ground attack that repeatedly broke through the Saints’ defense. Multiple backs contributed touchdowns, while the passing game delivered quick strikes that stretched the field and spread St. Charles East thin.
On defense, Central controlled the action from start to finish. The front seven applied steady pressure, collapsing the pocket and limiting rushing lanes, while the secondary closed passing windows and denied opportunities downfield. The unit forced turnovers that flipped possession quickly and set up additional scoring chances.
Special teams added to the onslaught, including a blocked punt and several returns that gave the offense short fields. By the fourth quarter, Central had built an insurmountable lead, sealing a shutout that underscored their preparation and early-season form.
