Lincoln-Way Central boys swimming delivered a consistent two-day performance to place third at the Steve Allen Invitational, finishing with 297 team points in a competitive field.
The invitational took place Jan. 23–24 at Lockport High School in Lockport, Illinois, with all events contested in short-course yards.
Lincoln-Way Central generated scoring across multiple events to remain in contention throughout the meet. Souya Kubota led the Knights with a second-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching in 1:00.99, and followed with a fifth-place showing in the 100 butterfly. Jack Mroz added a pair of strong swims, placing third in the 500 freestyle in 4:59.79 and competing in both the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Tyler Hofsommer contributed key points with a third-place finish in the 100 breaststroke and a seventh-place result in the 200 individual medley. Devin Canavan added a runner-up finish to strengthen the team total, while Dominic DiForti placed fourth in the 200 freestyle to provide additional depth.
Lincoln-Way Central totaled 27 entries, recording eight personal-best swims and five season-best performances over the two-day meet.
