The Lincoln-Way Central boys’ golf team commenced its 2025 season on August 14 at Blackberry Oaks Golf Course, participating in a multi-team event organized by Oswego High School.
Although the Knights did not secure a team victory, several players delivered notable individual performances. Senior Brody Wall led with a score of 70, followed by Connor Kelch with 76 and Aiden Barker with 78. The event employed a Stableford scoring system, which awards points for eagles, birdies, and pars instead of relying on traditional stroke totals. This format introduced a unique element to the season opener, encouraging aggressive play and rewarding strong shot-making.
Head coach Ryan Pohlmann expressed satisfaction with the effort and growth demonstrated by his athletes. “It was a fun start to the season with a unique format for competing,” Pohlmann said. “I have been impressed with the improvement that our guys have made over the summer.”
The Knights concluded the tournament with an overall record of 0-0 but gained valuable experience as they prepare for future matches. With early signs of progress, Lincoln-Way Central aims to build momentum heading into upcoming competitions.
