Lincoln-Way Central delivered a strong all-around performance to defeat Minooka 2–0 on the road in a varsity boys volleyball non-conference match on March 25.
The match, held at Minooka High School, saw Lincoln-Way Central deliver a strong all-around performance. The Knights set the tone early in the opening set, using strong serving and efficient offense to build a comfortable lead and close it out 25–16. In the second set, Lincoln-Way Central maintained its momentum, staying composed as Minooka looked to respond, and pulling away late to secure the 25–18 finish. The Knights showed balance across the lineup, combining aggressive net play with solid defensive coverage to control rallies and limit scoring runs. With steady execution and contributions throughout the rotation, Lincoln-Way Central completed the sweep in a poised road performance.
Up next for Lincoln-Way Central is a home non-conference match against Joliet West on April 2 at 5:30 p.m., with the Knights entering the game holding an overall record of 7-1. The last time these teams met, Lincoln-Way Central won against Joliet West 2-0 on April 3, 2025, at home according to MaxPreps.
Lincoln-Way Central High School serves grades 9 through 12 and had an enrollment of 1,968 students during the 2019–2020 school year. It is located in New Lenox in Will County. Of those students, grade distribution was as follows: grade nine made up 21.4 percent; grade ten accounted for 23.1 percent; grade eleven represented the highest concentration at 23.5 percent; and grade twelve comprised 23.2 percent.
Demographically, Lincoln-Way Central’s student body was made up of approximately 85.6 percent white students, with black and Asian students each representing about 1.6 percent of enrollment and Hispanic students accounting for about 9.5 percent during that same period, according to the Illinois Report Card.
