The Lincoln-Way Central Knights were defeated 2-1 in overtime by the St. Laurence Vikings during a Soccer Class 3A sectional playoff at Lyons Township on Monday, November 3.
The match was held at Lyons Township High School as part of the 2025 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 3A Boys Soccer Playoffs.
According to reports, the Knights’ disciplined defense and well-organized midfield kept the Vikings in check throughout much of regulation. The Knights initially took the lead and maintained momentum early in the game before the Vikings rallied late to force overtime with scores of 1-0, 0-1, 0-0, and 0-1.
With this loss, Lincoln-Way Central concludes its 2025 postseason with an overall record of 18 wins and five losses.
