In a high-stakes rivalry match that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats, the Lincoln-Way Central Knights varsity volleyball team defeated the Lincoln-Way West Warriors by a final score of 2-0.
The match took place on Thursday, April 30, at Lincoln-Way Central High School.
The Knights established their dominance early in the opening set, utilizing a disciplined defensive rotation to outpace the Warriors for a 25-18 win. Lincoln-Way West attempted to force a third set behind the defensive efforts of Ryan Czernik and Mason Thompson, but the Knights remained composed to seal the sweep with a 25-20 victory in the second frame.
This win preserves Central’s perfect 6-0 record at home and highlights their ability to execute under pressure against high-caliber conference opponents.
The Warriors showed flashes of brilliance in their reception game, yet they ultimately struggled to penetrate the Knights’ formidable front line during critical rallies throughout the evening.
