Lincoln-Way Central boys golf earned a top-three finish at the Lemont Invitational, battling through the demanding Big Run Golf Course to secure a spot on the leaderboard. Known for its punishing layout, Big Run tested both the physical and mental aspects of the game.
The Knights were led by Brody Wall, who placed second overall after nearly recording a hole-in-one on the par-three 13th, his shot finishing just feet from the pin. Chewy Preski added another strong showing, finishing seventh and bringing home hardware to highlight Central’s depth at the top of the lineup.
Coaches emphasized the difficulty of Big Run, noting that scores under 80 on the course are comparable to shooting under par elsewhere. The Knights’ ability to recover after a challenging start underscored their resilience and competitive approach.
The Lemont Invite performance gave Lincoln-Way Central added momentum heading into Senior Night at Sanctuary Golf Course, where the program will recognize eight seniors for their contributions. The celebration marks an important moment for the team as it continues through its fall schedule with confidence and consistency.
