The Lincoln-Way Central girls basketball team delivered a dominant performance, rolling past Bradley-Bourbonnais 67-32 in a Southwest Suburban Conference matchup.
The game was played Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox, where the Knights controlled the tempo from the opening tip and built separation in every quarter.
Lincoln-Way Central was led by its senior core of Olivia Gehrke, Aubrey Birmingham, Brooke Katzmann and Scarlett Abramowicz, who set the tone on both ends of the floor. The group applied constant defensive pressure, limited Bradley-Bourbonnais’ scoring opportunities, and pushed the pace offensively to create high-percentage looks in transition and the half court. The Knights steadily extended their lead through the middle quarters, holding the Boilermakers to single-digit scoring in each period.
Gehrke and Katzmann provided steady scoring on the perimeter, Birmingham directed the offense from the point guard spot, and Abramowicz contributed on both the glass and the defensive end as Lincoln-Way Central pulled away early and never looked back.
The decisive win capped a strong all-around effort as the Knights continued to build momentum in conference play.
