The Lincoln-Way Central girls’ cross country team achieved a decisive victory at the Southwest Suburban Conference Championship held at Lockport East. The team secured the title with a total of 22 points and had nine runners named to the All-Conference list.
The championship took place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, under favorable fall conditions, which contributed to one of the Knights’ most comprehensive performances of the season.
Senior Mia Forystek led the team with a runner-up finish and recorded a course-best time by 37 seconds. She was followed closely by teammates Keira Faxel in third place, Brea Counihan in fourth, and Jillian Davies in fifth. The Knights demonstrated strong pack running throughout the event. Other notable performances included Macy Gallagher finishing eighth, Katie Petrosky eleventh, Ava Dughetti fourteenth, Grace Mathis nineteenth, and Ania Topor twentieth. Petrosky achieved a personal-best time of 19:20, while Topor’s late effort in a photo finish secured her position as an All-Conference finisher. This performance marked Lincoln-Way Central’s sixth invitational victory of the season.
According to available records, the Knights also claimed the SWSC Championship last season. This consecutive title underscores the program’s depth, discipline, and leadership.
