The Lincoln-Way Central boys cross country team achieved a runner-up finish at the Southwest Suburban Conference Championship held at Lockport High School.
The event took place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, and included a competitive field with state-ranked teams such as Sandburg, Lincoln-Way East, and Lockport. This made Central’s second-place finish particularly noteworthy.
Senior captain Bryce Counihan led the Knights with a strong second-place individual finish. Ronin Borgeson, recognized as the team’s Varsity Runner of the Week, secured a spot in the top ten with his season-best performance. Cain Scanlon finished 13th and Andrew Nilson placed 18th, both earning All-Conference honors. The Knights demonstrated determination and teamwork from the outset, characteristics that have defined their season.
According to reports, the Knights had placed third in last year’s Southwest Suburban Conference Championship. This year’s second-place finish marks a significant improvement for the program and highlights their growing depth and leadership.
