The Lincoln-Way Central boys golf team concluded their season with a 10th-place finish at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State Championship. The team recorded a total score of 329 on Friday at The Den at Fox Creek in Bloomington.
According to reports, the two-day tournament took place from October 10 to 11, 2025, under challenging conditions that tested even the state’s top golfers.
Senior Ethan Ridings led the Knights with an opening-round score of 80 and a 77 on the second day. He finished 42nd individually and recorded six birdies over the weekend. Teammates Brody Wall and Mathew Preski each scored 82, while Charlie Solomon added an 83 to complete the team score. Despite missing some key putts, the Knights maintained composure throughout, demonstrating consistency and teamwork that characterized their season.
Looking ahead, Lincoln-Way Central aims to build on this state performance when the 2026 season begins next fall. Offseason training will focus on refining short-game precision and course management.
The Knights also reached the state tournament last season but did not finish in the top 10. This year’s result marks a significant step forward for the program and serves as a memorable send-off for senior leader Ridings.
