Lincoln-Way Central showcased a commendable team performance at the SouthWest Suburban Conference Championships on October 18, 2025, held at Lockport High School East Campus. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams finished among the top contenders in the meet.
According to reports, the Lady Knights were particularly dominant, placing five runners in the top eight of the varsity race. Mia Forystek secured second place with a time of 18:14, followed by Keira Faxel in third with 18:23, Brea Counihan in fourth with 18:30, and Jillian Davies in fifth with 18:35. Macy Gallagher rounded off the scoring by finishing eighth. The team’s depth was further demonstrated by Frances Maynard’s victory in the Open race, with teammates Nicole Demma, Cassidy Dion, and Isabella Hays finishing second, third, and fifth respectively.
On the boys’ side, Bryce Counihan led Lincoln-Way Central with a notable second-place finish in the varsity race clocking 15:01. He was followed by Ronin Borgeson in tenth place and Cian Scanlon in thirteenth. Freshman-sophomore competitor Jaxson Oldenburg captured first place in his race while Domenico DiSalvo claimed victory in the Open division, completing Lincoln-Way Central’s sweep across different levels.
