Lincoln-Way Central girls volleyball team has navigated a challenging first half of the season and is emerging as one of the formidable teams in the SouthWest Suburban Conference.
According to recent records, Central (16-6) has demonstrated strong performance on the road, achieving a 6-1 record away from home. The Knights recently achieved consecutive victories against Andrew on September 30 and Homewood-Flossmoor on October 1. These wins add to their accomplishments against Plainfield North, Wheaton Academy, and Marian Catholic. Their set record stands at 34-13, indicating their strength in matches that extend into later stages.
The team experienced a difficult period with close losses to league rivals Lincoln-Way West and Lincoln-Way East but quickly recovered. Their resilience was evident during a sweep at Beecher on September 29, which helped them gain momentum going into conference play.
Central now prepares for an important road match against Sandburg on October 7 before hosting Lockport on October 9. With balance, depth, and momentum in their favor, the Knights are showing potential to compete for the top position in the conference.
