The Lincoln-Way Central boys swimming team is approaching the new season with confidence and momentum, following a historic year in the pool.
Head Coach Patrick Shaughnessy is preparing to lead the Knights as they aim for consecutive titles at both the conference and sectional levels. “Things are looking good,” Shaughnessy said. “We expect to win conference and sectionals again this year.”
According to Shaughnessy, after making history last season by capturing the school’s first-ever sectional championship, the Knights are focused on building on that success and adding a state medal to their list of accomplishments.
Just three years ago, Lincoln-Way Central finished seventh at sectionals—a testament to the program’s rapid rise under Shaughnessy’s leadership. The team’s hard work, unity, and depth have transformed them into one of the most competitive programs in the area.
