Lincoln-Way Central Knights outlasted the Lincoln-Way East Griffins 50-45 in overtime in a SouthWest Suburban Conference boys basketball showdown.
The game took place on December 16 at Lincoln Way East High School.
According to reports, the game remained tight throughout regulation, with both teams trading baskets and defensive stops in a physical conference matchup. Lincoln-Way Central managed to rally in the fourth quarter to force overtime and then pulled ahead in the extra period for the win. The team’s balanced scoring and clutch defense in the final minutes helped them secure the victory. The win improved Lincoln-Way Central’s conference record and continued their strong start to the season.
Lincoln-Way Central is scheduled to play Carl Sandburg next on January 9 at Carl Sandburg High School.
