Lincoln‑Way Central put together one of its most complete efforts of the spring in a 7–4 conference win over Sandburg on April 20, pairing disciplined at‑bats with steady pitching and clean defense to control the matchup from the middle innings on.
Senior Brady Rossa sparked the offense with a sharp 2‑for‑3 day that included two runs, two RBIs and a double, part of an 11‑hit performance that kept the Knights in command, according to MaxPreps.
Senior Luke Tingley added another run‑scoring hit and reached base twice, while juniors Connor Kelch and Tyler Arnold each contributed a hit to extend innings and apply pressure. Sophomore Christian Lovingfoss reached twice with a hit and a walk, and sophomore Des Gill chipped in a hit and an RBI as Central’s lineup depth continued to show up in key spots.
On the mound, senior Nolan Bartkus set the tone with 2.2 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and striking out two. Senior Owen Novak handled the final 4.1 frames, striking out four and closing out the conference win.
It was a composed, veteran‑driven performance that delivered a strong league result for the Knights.
Lincoln‑Way Central heads to Tinley Park on Friday, May 8, for a road conference matchup against Andrew, giving the Knights another chance to build momentum in league play.
