Lincoln-Way Central’s boys bowling team earned a top-four finish to qualify for sectionals and send multiple individuals through after a strong performance in postseason competition.
The regional tournament was held Jan. 16 at Lisle Lanes.
The Knights placed third in the team standings, finishing behind Lincoln-Way West and Lockport while securing one of the advancing spots along with Sandburg. Lincoln-Way Central posted game scores of 1113, 979 and 1171 to finish with a total that kept them in the top tier of a deep field that included programs from across the southwest suburbs. The team’s consistent scoring across all three games allowed the Knights to separate from the rest of the field and move on to the sectional round.
Individually, Lincoln-Way Central was led by Jacob Rob and Tyler Hoger, who both finished in the top four overall. Rob placed third with a three-game series of 1,379, while Hoger followed closely in fourth with a total of 1,368. Their performances helped Lincoln-Way Central sweep two of the top four individual spots and continue the program’s postseason run. The Knights also received contributions throughout the lineup that helped maintain steady frame-by-frame scoring and keep the team in position to advance.
Up next, Lincoln-Way Central will compete in the sectional round on Saturday at Lisle Lanes.
