Reina’s 2-run double lifts LWC past St. Laurence 4-1 win
Lincoln-Way Central defeated St. Laurence 4-1 in a home nonconference softball matchup.
The game took place at Lincoln-Way Central High School. The teams remained tied through the early innings before the Knights broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth inning, using timely hits to take control.
Annelysia Reina delivered the key moment with a two-run double to give Lincoln-Way Central the lead. Mia Degliomini added a home run to provide insurance as the Knights capitalized late.
In the circle, Lauren Podkul allowed four hits over five innings to set the tone. Hope Davis entered in relief and tossed two scoreless innings to close out the win.
Lincoln-Way Central returns March 30 with a road nonconference game against York at 10 a.m.
