Lincoln-Way Central continued to rely on its core trio of Alex Panos, Nick Brzezniak and Micah Evans despite a 62-35 road loss to Glenbard East.
The game was played Jan. 10 at Glenbard East High School in Lombard, where the Rams built an early lead and maintained control throughout the nonconference matchup.
Even in the loss, the Knights’ top contributors remained the focal point of the lineup. Senior guard Alex Panos, a 6-foot-1 floor leader, continues to pace the team with his all-around production, averaging 16.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.3 steals per game. His ability to score, defend and push the tempo has made him the engine of Lincoln-Way Central’s offense.
Junior forward Nick Brzezniak has provided consistent scoring and shooting, averaging 15.9 points per game while knocking down 48.6 percent of his three-point attempts and 75.6 percent of his free throws. At 6-foot-5, he also adds 4.5 rebounds per contest and gives the Knights a versatile inside-out option.
Senior forward Micah Evans has anchored the paint with 10.2 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game, supplying physicality on the glass and steady interior scoring.
