The Knights managed just two hits, one each from seniors E. McLaughlin and Annelysia Reina, while striking out nine times and leaving three runners on base. Defensively, the Knights committed two errors and cycled through three pitchers, with Ava Nemec, Madelyn Lanigan, and Jenna Lee combining to allow 11 hits and 10 runs. Despite flashes from McLaughlin and Reina at the plate, Lincoln‑Way Central was unable to generate sustained offense against a disciplined Saints squad.
Looking ahead, Lincoln‑Way Central (New Lenox, Ill.) faces York (Elmhurst, Ill.) in a nonconference varsity girls softball matchup today at Bo Jackson Elite Sports in Bensenville, with first pitch set for Monday, March 30 at 10 a.m. According to MaxPreps records, this marks the Knights’ first girls softball meeting against the Dukes.
