The Lincoln-Way Central girls’ water polo team defeated Andrew High School 12-6 on April 22, 2025, maintaining an undefeated record in conference play.
Molly Olson and Angelina Platos led the charge with four goals each, while Sophia Gaier added two goals. Hannah Quigley and Genevieve Dal Ponte each scored once, contributing to the Knights’ well-rounded offensive performance. The team’s defense also played a key role, stifling Andrew’s attempts and keeping the pressure high throughout the game.
With the win, the Knights remain at the top of their conference standings, continuing their strong season. Coach Pam Shaughnessy praised the team’s effort and focus, noting the importance of keeping momentum heading into their next game. “We’ve been working hard on both sides of the ball, and it’s showing. This win sets us up well for our next challenge,” she said.
