A single high-scoring frame can change everything in a flash. The Lincoln-Way Central Varsity Knights fought hard but ultimately lost to Lockport 7-4 on Monday.
The game took place on Wednesday, April 29, at Lockport High School.
Lincoln-Way Central initially took the lead in the third inning after Davis laced an RBI single down the right-field line, but a six-run surge by Lockport in the fourth proved too much to overcome, according to GameChanger. Jenna Lee paced the Knights’ offense with two hits in three at-bats, while Olivia Rowell, Hope Davis, and Audrey Hennings each contributed a run batted in. Despite the loss, the Knights showed resilience at the plate, forcing Lockport’s starter to work through six hits. On the mound, Lee struck out two over three and one-third innings before the Lockport bats found their rhythm. The Knights’ defense stayed active throughout the afternoon, though they were unable to stall the momentum of Lockport’s decisive five-hit rally.
Looking ahead, the team returns to their home field to bounce back. The Lincoln-Way Central Varsity Knights welcome Andrew on Wednesday, May 6, at 4:30 p.m. for their next highly anticipated matchup.
