Lincoln-Way Central picked up a 41–30 non-conference road victory over Hinsdale South on Thursday night.
The game was played Jan. 22 at Hinsdale South High School in Darien, Illinois, as the Knights used a strong defensive effort to hold the Hornets to 30 points.
Lincoln-Way Central controlled the pace throughout the contest, limiting Hinsdale South’s scoring opportunities and building separation across all four quarters with disciplined half-court defense and strong rebounding. The Knights’ defensive pressure forced tough, contested shots and disrupted passing lanes, preventing the Hornets from finding a consistent offensive rhythm, while steady ball movement and patient shot selection on the other end allowed Central to capitalize on key possessions.
Senior leadership helped anchor the performance, with Olivia Gehrke, Aubrey Birmingham, Brooke Katzmann and Scarlett Abramowicz providing experience and composure on both ends of the floor, particularly in late-game situations. Their poise helped the Knights protect the lead down the stretch and close out the game to secure the road win.
Up Next Lincoln-Way Central will travel to Lyons on Jan. 31 for a 3 p.m. tipoff.
The Last Time They MetThe two programs last faced each other Feb. 1, when Lyons defeated Lincoln-Way Central, 64–39.
