Lincoln-Way Central’s softball team continued its strong performance with a decisive 6-0 victory over Lincoln-Way East on Tuesday, April 29.
Junior pitcher Lisabella Dimitrijevic played a pivotal role, delivering a complete game shutout. She allowed only four hits and struck out 18 batters. Dimitrijevic also contributed offensively with a two-run home run and three RBIs, leading the Knights’ attack.
According to the team’s statistics, Kayla Doerre added to the score with a double and two RBIs, while Ellie McLaughlin and Jaimee Bolduc each recorded two hits. The Knights amassed a total of 10 hits and maintained error-free defense throughout the game.
“It was a nice team win,” said head coach Jeff Tarala. “We did a good job of putting the ball in play.”
Lincoln-Way Central’s record now stands at 17-1 overall, remaining undefeated in the Southwest Suburban Conference with a 7-0 record. The team has consistently demonstrated strong pitching, timely hitting, and solid fielding this season.
Looking ahead, Lincoln-Way Central is set to host Lockport on Thursday, May 1. The game will take place at home as they aim for a conference title and an extended postseason campaign. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at Lincoln-Way Central.
