Lincoln-Way Central placed ninth as a team and saw Jacob Rob advance individually at the IHSA Naperville Central Boys Bowling Sectional.
The sectional was held Jan. 24 at Naperville Central High School, featuring a 12-team field competing across six games to determine state qualifiers.
The Knights totaled 5,738 pins over six games, finishing behind sectional champion Oswego East (5,983), Lockport (5,980) and Lincoln-Way West (5,977) in a tightly contested field. Lincoln-Way Central opened with a 963 in Game 1 and followed with its top performance of the day in Game 2 with a 1,052, before posting games of 971, 887, 909 and 956 to close the tournament.
Despite the team narrowly missing a top-four finish, Jacob Rob delivered a strong individual series to earn a state-qualifying spot. Rob’s consistency across all six games allowed him to finish among the top individual scorers not on a qualifying team, securing advancement to the IHSA State Finals.
The performance capped a solid postseason showing for the Knights, who battled through one of the deepest sectional fields in the state and produced an individual qualifier, continuing Lincoln-Way Central’s presence at the state level in boys bowling.
