Lincoln-Way Central defeated St. Charles North 8-4 in a nonconference boys water polo matchup.The game took place at St. Charles North High School. The Knights used a balanced offensive effort and strong defensive play to control the tempo and maintain their advantage throughout the match.Tyler Lambert led Lincoln-Way Central with four goals, while Jack Mroz added two goals and three steals. Dan Fiske contributed a goal, two assists and two steals, and Zach Fritz added a goal while also helping anchor the defense. The Knights spread production across the lineup and consistently controlled possession to generate scoring opportunities.Defensively, Lincoln-Way Central limited clean looks and forced turnovers, helping maintain separation as the match progressed. Gavin Schindler contributed in net, combining with Fritz’s defensive presence to keep St. Charles North from building momentum.Lincoln-Way Central’s ability to execute on both ends of the pool proved to be the difference, as the Knights maintained composure and finished strong.Lincoln-Way Central returns April 3 for a home tournament matchup against Lockport at 10 a.m., followed by a game against Homewood-Flossmoor later in the day.
