Karales drives in 6 as LWC rolls past Joliet Catholic 15-2
Carly Karales drove in six runs to lead Lincoln-Way Central to a 15-2 win over Joliet Catholic in a nonconference matchup.
The game took place April 1 at Joliet Catholic High School. The Knights broke the game open early, scoring three runs in the first inning and adding six more in the second to take control. Lincoln-Way Central finished with 14 hits and three home runs in a dominant offensive showing.
Karales went 3-for-4 with a home run and six RBIs to pace the lineup. Jenna Lee added two home runs and three RBIs, while Hope Davis scored three runs and drove in three more. Annelysia Reina contributed two hits and two RBIs, and Audrey Hennings added two hits as part of the balanced attack.
In the circle, Lee earned the win, allowing two runs over three innings. Lauren Podkul followed with two scoreless innings, striking out two to close out the victory.
Joliet Catholic collected seven hits, with Lexi Rezzardi, Callan Kinsella and Addy Rizzatto each recording two hits. Ella Nurczyk drove in the Hilltoppers’ lone RBI.
Lincoln-Way Central returns April 11 at home against Glenwood at 11 a.m.
