Lincoln-Way Central’s boys volleyball team secured a straight-sets victory over Joliet Catholic Academy on Tuesday night, winning the match 25-20, 25-17 at home.

With this non-conference win, the Knights improved their overall record to 8-3. They have yet to begin play in the Southwest Suburban Conference. According to the team, senior outside hitter Ben Pryor led with nine kills, while Dylan Brannigan and Braeden Fawcett each contributed five. Their efforts helped Central maintain control throughout both sets with consistent offensive pressure and solid defense.

Head coach Mary Brown credited her team’s focus and energy for the win, noting their response following a challenging weekend loss. “I was proud of how we regrouped,” Brown said. “Everyone contributed and stayed sharp from start to finish.” The Knights demonstrated poise in key moments, pulling away late in both sets to secure the sweep.

Lincoln-Way Central is set to return to action on Thursday, April 17, in pool play at the Wheaton Warrenville South Tournament. The event features some of Illinois’ top programs and provides a midseason test for the Knights as they prepare for conference play and a potential postseason run. Brown said, “We’re excited to see how we stack up,” adding that it is “a great opportunity for us to grow.”
