Lincoln-Way Central powered past Bradley-Bourbonnais 60–26 in a girls varsity basketball conference matchup.
The Knights clinched the win on January 29 at Bradley-Bourbonnais High School. According to reports, Lincoln-Way Central took control early in the game with relentless defense and strong rebounding efforts, which set the tone for their dominant performance. The Knights out-rebounded their opponents 39–22, creating extra possessions and limiting Bradley-Bourbonnais to single attempts. Their offensive strategy was equally effective, resulting in 17 assists compared to five by Bradley-Bourbonnais.
Lincoln-Way Central’s shooting efficiency was notable, with a field goal percentage of 39% and three-point shooting at 32%, both surpassing their opponent’s statistics. Katie Barrett led the team with 13 points, demonstrating confident shooting and steady play. Aubrey Birmingham contributed 12 points, providing energy and consistency on both ends of the court. Olivia Gehrke added 11 points, completing a balanced trio that maintained Central’s offensive momentum.
Looking ahead, Central is preparing for a February 10 matchup against Lincoln-Way East. The Knights aim to rebound from their last game on December 16, where they experienced a home loss to Griffin with a score of 48–36.
