Lincoln-Way Central’s boys cross country team showcased a strong performance at the Minooka Flight Invitational on Saturday. The team placed multiple runners near the front of their respective flights, demonstrating depth as they approach the core of the season.
According to reports, the Knights were led by Cian Scanlon, who secured first place in the Flight 4 race with a time of 16:20 over three miles. Ryan Zartler also achieved victory by winning the Flight 7 race in 16:46. These victories set a positive tone for Lincoln-Way Central’s balanced lineup, maintaining pressure on competitors throughout the event.
Bryce Counihan delivered a commendable performance with a time of 15:32, earning third place in Flight 1. Mekhai Wright finished fourth in Flight 2 with a time of 16:13. Andrew Nilson added to the team’s success with a third-place finish in Flight 5 at 16:32, while Ronin Borgeson came in sixth in Flight 3 at 16:39. This collective effort rounded out a deep scoring group for Lincoln-Way Central.
With six runners among the top finishers in their respective flights, Lincoln-Way Central demonstrated a blend of leading talent and pack strength that coaches emphasize for postseason success.
