Lincoln-Way Central girls water polo dominated Homewood-Flossmoor 16-5 in a conference matchup, delivering a balanced and explosive performance from start to finish.
The game took place April 14 at Lincoln-Way Central High School, where the Knights controlled the tempo early and never let up.
Angelina Platos led the scoring effort with four goals, setting the tone for the Knights’ offense and helping establish early momentum. Gianna Jansky followed with three goals, while Hannah Quigley and Jenna Mack each added two to keep the pressure on throughout the match. Lincoln-Way Central showcased its depth across the lineup, as Ella Grutega, Ella Flynn, Mia Ewanic, Liz Ewanic, and Ainsley Cowan each contributed a goal to round out the scoring.
The Knights consistently moved the ball well and capitalized on scoring opportunities, building separation as the match progressed. Their offensive balance and ability to involve multiple players made it difficult for Homewood-Flossmoor to key in on any one scoring option.
In goal, junior Lauren Rogers made her debut and played a key role defensively, helping limit quality chances and maintain control throughout the match.
Lincoln-Way Central’s complete team effort and sustained pressure proved to be the difference in a commanding home victory.
