Lincoln-Way Central’s boys volleyball team earned a convincing win over Plainfield East on Tuesday night, sweeping the Bengals in straight sets, 25-18, 25-10.

The Knights improved to 11-6 overall with the victory. They have yet to begin Southwest Suburban Conference play, holding a 0-0 mark in league competition.

Senior Aiden Schindler led the way with two kills, five aces and one block. Braeden Fawcett paced the attack with six kills, while Declan Garvey chipped in three kills to keep the Knights rolling.

Lincoln-Way Central set the tone early, using aggressive serves and strong play at the net to build an early lead in the first set. After holding off a brief rally from Plainfield East, the Knights closed the set with a dominant run. They carried that momentum into the second set, taking control from the start and never letting up.

Coach comments were not immediately available, but team energy remained high following the win. Players said their focus remains steady as they move deeper into the season.

The Knights return to action Thursday, April 24, hosting rival Lincoln-Way East in a much-anticipated matchup at home. First serve is set for 6 p.m.

Their message as the season continues: “Keep on keeping on.”
